❶ Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
In the early morning, go to the world-famous Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, where more than 100 giant pandas live. Stroll along the bamboo-shaded paths and watch these adorable creatures eat, play and nap in a simulated natural habitat. Visit the Moon and Sun maternity wards to see panda cubs, and learn about important conservation research at the museum. It is recommended to arrive early as pandas are most active in the morning.
❷ Sanxingdui Museum
Step into one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. The magnificent Sanxingdui Museum, newly opened in 2023, houses thousands of cultural relics from the ancient Shu civilization more than 3,000 years ago. The huge bronze longitudinal mask, the sacred bronze tree and the brilliant golden staff will take your breath away. The museum itself has stunning architecture and world-class exhibitions, making it an absolute must-see highlight of your trip to Chengdu.
